Fiji!

We visited Fiji from October 30th until November 9th, 2010.  Our flight was with Air Pacific and it took 14 hours from Los Angeles!  We spent 10 days here, and we learned about how people live in Fiji.  We also took many pictures and videos to share our findings with you.  Take a look at it on this page, and if you have any questions, let us know! -Casey and Andrew

Some of our adventures included the Sawailau Caves, viewing traditional Fijian dancing, visiting a local village and school, going to a mud pool, and seeing a local temple!

We saw the normal lifestyle for people in Fiji.  Here are the places we stayed, and what daily life looks like in Fiji.

We saw a lot of different plants, animals, and sights in Fiji.  Here are some pictures!

Fijians need a lot of different ways to travel in their country.

Videos

This video is of local 5th graders singing during their recess break.  They are singing a song you should know - You Are My Sunshine!

Here they are again, singing in the Fijian language.  They are students at the Nasomolevu Catholic School in the Yasawa Islands.

We saw many fire dancing performances in Fiji.  They have to go through many weeks of training, so don't try this at home!

This is another video of a fire dance performance.  This is a slower dance, but takes just as much practice.

Here is a video of a bird that made us laugh.  It is called a Mynah bird, and makes one of its noises by puffing up like a blow fish! Watch out, it might explode!
